My son is still learning the shapes but he has no problem with colours now which to me is a great achievement for someone who only wants to play.

Its a fun DVD and the animations encourage him to guess and interact.

So parents out there looking for something to occupy their kids while you cooking or simply needed a time alone, I think thid DVD is great.

I have recommended this DVD to few friends and they love it!

Please take a look at the website to find out more.

http://www.jellyfirm.com/

God Bless!

dianna

Expandable Summary....

If you guys looking for code to have your post in summary and with expandable options... do visit this site .... She looked at me and gave me the arrogant look. I guessed she was trying to say "Look at me, I have a car" Even hubby said she looked arrogant. Well I have news to all mummies who are doing that.. YOU DON'T LOOK GOOD AT ALL!!! I mean come on, how good can you look having a kid as a cushion (God Forbid) should there be a sudden strong break or worst an accident!! Please I am begging you mums, parents, grandparents, caregivers.. please provide a baby seat and seat belt for your kids.
I am sorry but that is so irresponsible and STUPID not to have kids on seat belt.
I am talking about this because recently there was an article in the newspaper and I AM SHOCKED BEYOND BELIEF WHAT SOME PARENTS SAY!!
Well, read it yourself and tell me how can you not be angry....
Here is the site...

http://www.straitstimes.com/STI/STIMEDIA/sp/beltup/STIStory_236209t.html
If you can own a car I am sure you can buy a car seat...
If your child throw tantrums because he/she has to put on a seat belt and you agree not to have the seat belt on.. Who is the parent here?
I cannot believe the reasons they gave for not having the kids to put on seat belt or on baby/kid's seat. I am truly shocked!!!!!

Anyway I just have to let it out because I have seen kids in the car witout seat belt and babies on mummies lap seating at the front passenger seat and even the mummies have no seat belt on. I love Sunday because usually I get to do nothing much. I tried to take it easy with the housechore on a Sunday. I tried not to make a big deal when kids make mess but rather make them do some cleaning up. But the best thing about Sunday for me, hubby cooks! I love it when he cooks. He makes something different and usually he cooks food he love during his childhood. I was very nervous because Putri had been homeschooling for the last 2 years. I thought it would be good for her to be homeschool rather than enrol her in Nursery. This year, she is in Kindergarten and we felt she is ready for school.
Homeschooling was fun for us. During the 2 years I concentrate more on phonics. Putri had lots of fun learning new words through theme learning.
The rewards of homeschooling for Putri...(comments from her teacher)-

She is able to enjoy school the fullest and not worry about not able to do her school assigments. She is able to interact with other kids through helping them to read instructions and in some way teaching them phonics. Her teacher also mentioned how she was very well advanced in reading in comparison with her classmates. She is always cheerful and very responsive. I am glad I homeschool Putri. Knowing how happy she is in school makes me a very happy mum!
Please dont underestimate what your child can achieved just by spending an hour with him or her. When I homeschool my girl, I did not buy expensive homeschool materials. I surf the internet for worksheets and ideas. We make our own book and worksheets at times. When I taught her time, I made a simple smiley face clock from paper. Everyday I will ask her for the time and she would refer back to her smiley clock. After 2 weeks, she was able to look at the home clock and recognise some of the time. Repitition, encouragement and lots of appraisals do wonders for your kid confidence. I made sure every day I would tell my husband how well she did that day in front of her.
I am missing homeschool and so does my girl. We stil spend an hour everyday learning but now at a much slower pace. I still continue to challenge her at home while in school she is having fun.
So to all parent that homeschooling their kids... Cheers to you!!

PSP Mom! The reason was because I thought having 2 preschoolers, it would be great to have an interactive educational dvd for them. Especially for my son. So after a week, I had left a review on the dvd. Here is part of my review....

Bought the DVD last week for Putra. He is 2 and is pretty slow when it comes to learning. Being a boy and very active, its hard to try to get him to sit and teach him anything. So when I heard the Colours and Shapes DVD is out for sale, I was excited. The verdict....... Kids loving it!! ...

Recently there is a mum commenting on my review... Here it is.....

"I found that the comment that woman left about the video to be a little harsh on her child. She says that he's not very smart.......Hell, he's only two!!! Yes it is good to teach children things by all means. My son could count to ten by the time he was two, but they are children & we should let them be children & stop encouraging them to grow up so fast. This time flies by so fast."

I am not angry much but very very dissapointed. Firstly, I did not say my son was not very smart. HE IS SMART alright just when it comes to learning, he is slow and that is totally a different thing. Secondly, she doesnt know me and my kids at all and its not right to judge me that way. So please mummies.... be kinder and don't put your own words because it can be really hurting. This is not the first time I have experienced this and have seen many insensitive and harsh judgement of mums towards other mums
Kindness, Empathy and Compassion Towards Other Mums Please..........

I am at the point where I am sick of joining any mum's websites forum. Its unbelievable how there are sooooooooo many mums out there trying to sound or prove they are the greatest mum of all. And its unbelievable how many are soooo unsupportive and utter lots of discourage words and comments to other mums.

This just has to stop. Being a woman is tough and adding the status mum to our profile makes it even tougher. People in general are no longer humble and down to earth. Status is such an important factor in their life that they forget the meaning of compassion, sensitivity and understanding others.

The whole idea of being look upon as the more experience and capable mum, has make many mums failed to be kind to other mums. To me, it doesnt matter if you are rich or poor... or have a maid or no maid.. or have 1 or 2 or 10 kids... a mum is a mum.. each has their own problems and their own way to raise their kids. Nobody can tell you how to raise or who your kids are but yourself.

The best thing a mum can offer to another mum is a listening ear and be supportive. Its amazing how much a different that will be to a mum if another mum will just be there to listen and utter words that is warm and supportive. Not only will she be encourage but makes the rest of the day much easier to go through.

I said this to a mum before... "The world is challenging and trying as it is, the next thing I want is to allow a person, who is negative and full of discourage words, in my life"

Mums.. be kind to other mums... Motherhood is the toughest job in the world. No one knows that better than us mums. The next time a mum express her plight and worries, give a smile, listen and a nice hug. Make her day :) Thats a gift!

God Bless!

Hope you had a great Mother' Day!

Man, Oh Man............

Thought this is worth sharing with you guys...... and ladies.. When you’re a man . . .

-Your last name stays put.
-The garage is all yours.
-Wedding plans take care of themselves.
-You can never be pregnant.
-Wrinkles add character.
-The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected.
-You’ve got one mood all the time. Usually.
-Phone conversations are over in thirty seconds flat.

-A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.
-You can open all your own jars.
-You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. Usually.
-If someone forgets to invite you somewhere, he can still be your friend.
-Your underwear is $8.95—for a three-pack!
-The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.
-You only have to shave your face and neck.
-You can play with toys all your life.
-You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.
-You can “do” your nails with a pocket knife

See what I mean? So the next time your wife seems too complicated for you, be patient with her. You didn’t marry a man. You married her because she is different.

Realize that her life comes with a lot of stuff you don’t have to put up with. Take the time to genuinely listen and understand because God created her as a gift for you.

Discuss
If your wife is not hitting you in the arm too hard right now, take a few minutes to talk about your differences. Promise you’ll try to do a better job of understanding and appreciating those differences.

Pray
Take your wife by the hand and give God thanks for providing her with all her uniqueness.

Happy Mother's Day!!

An Unwelcome SMS!

Like any other evening, I am always in a hurry to prepare dinner. I have 2 pre-schoolers, hungry and tired. Then it the midst of the chaos I received an sms from the kids' school admin that reads:

"MOE (Ministry of Education) has advised the school to close from 12May to break the transmission of HFMD (Hand Foot Mouth Disease). School will resume on 23June."

So what does that mean for me?
I have to spend few hours on every Sunday planning some activities for them. Just like back in those days when I was homeschooling Putri. I have to put aside a couple of hours for learning every day and many hours of playtime. hahahaaha.

Ever since they have been in school and loving every minute of it, they have been getting really restless at home especially these last few weeks. And me keeping them away from the pool and playground didnt help either.
Well I cannot help it. I cannot risk their health when the outbreak of HFMD is still on the high side. A little information about the disease.

Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease (HFMD) is caused by the Coxsackie virus and Enterovirus 71. The throat and tonsils develop small ulcers while the hands, feet, and diaper area are affected by a rash with characteristic vesicles (very small blisters). This is usually a mild illness with the rash healing in 5 to 7 days.
HFMD is spread from person to person by direct contact with the nasal discharge, saliva, faeces and fluid from the rash of an infected person. Both adults and children can be affected, but young children below five years are particularly susceptible.

Check out this site to read more :

http://www.hpb.gov.sg/hpb/default.asp?pg_id=865&aid=272

I have been following quite closely on HFMD here in Singapore. The latest news said that many new cases reported after the weekend break. So I cant help but to think there are some kids who already have early signs of the disease are out and about during the weekend. So thats the reason why I am keeping them at home.

We sure do miss the pool and be out and about again. But I am sure I can get them to be occupied around the clock. Planning to get them do a simple hand painting. The wall need some painting. They look dull and lifeless. Hahaha

So the kids will have extra 2 weeks of summer break. It will be a crazy weeks ahead!!!

And A Heart For Me?

Got a nice surprise today from my son, Putra. This week she has been talking about Mother's Day and in school she has been busy making something special for Mum :). She got to bring home her gift yesterday and it was lovely.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SCN2_qpL4kI/AAAAAAAAAFU/FYekx6Wz8-w/s320/080520081963.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5198129231066554946" />

Its a wonderful sight to see how many grins and how many mummies faces lighted up when they received the flowers from their kids. How dare him!

An engineer was sentenced to three weeks in jail for clubbing his Filipino maid with a rolling pin, news reports said Tuesday. Xing Likun, 36, pleaded guilty to hitting Irene Israel Miguel, 31, on her calf and back. He also kicked her in the knee, The Straits Times said.

http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest+News/Courts+and+Crime/STIStory_234192.html

The 'mistake' that the maid did, did not deserve a punishment like that. And what make me more angry is the fact that the engineer was given only 3 weeks jail term. I think a few strokes of the cane is what he deserved or maybe few weeks of public service.

I am truly anger with what I read. This is not the first time I read this here in Singapore. Last month there were 2 cases of maid abuses. Dear Lord, what is wrong with these human. The shocking part of all... these maids were abuse by women. Yup! WOMEN!! Here are the links if you be interested to read about it.

http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest+News/Courts+and+Crime/STIStory_227814.html

http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest+News/Courts+and+Crime/STIStory_225742.html

Please if you have a maid, understand one thing. She is a helper not a SLAVE!! A person who is miles away from her family coming here to earn money. Imagine having to leave behind her family and some sad cases her children.

Please don't lay your hands on her or even express hurtful words to them because she feels pain and has a heart too.
Please respect her because she is a woman.
Please spare her a smile because it will warm up her heart.
Please care just a little and ask how she is doing because it will make her feel she does matter.
Please don't vent your bad day or anger on the maid because she is not the problem.
Please help her to help you by showing your appreciation each time she did a good job.

I can only pray for all the maids who are so far away from family. I always make a point to smile at every maid that I come across. So many of them have sadness and loneliness in their eyes. It must be really difficult for these maids. I pray that they have good employer who cares for them.

God Bless

My Mini Garden Pictures

Here are some pictures of the latest growth of my mini garden. Its been couple of months now and I am very happy with what I achieved. :)
Most of the plants need to be transplant to a bigger pot especially the Lime, Fennel, Long beans...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SB_kFWH9GxI/AAAAAAAAAD4/x-TbLVfmoak/s320/Chilli+fruits.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197123275498265362" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SB_kFmH9GyI/AAAAAAAAAEA/uHi2qWNW8jw/s320/Chinese+parsely.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197123279793232674" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SB_kF2H9GzI/AAAAAAAAAEI/FHbWPXrIGcM/s320/Basil.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197123284088199986" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SB_kF2H9G0I/AAAAAAAAAEQ/B5JlXFo-f84/s320/Lime.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197123284088200002" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SB_kGGH9G1I/AAAAAAAAAEY/4iflBDSJmZQ/s320/Fennel.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197123288383167314" /></a

Today Is My "Appreciating Other's Blog" Day

Hubby just left for Germany early this morning. Wish I can come along but with 2 kids, it will cost us a bomb.
Kids are busy with their own activities namely, watching Sunday cartoons and playing with PSP. So I decided I want to make other happy and feel appreciated. I am going to go through buzzfuse site and check out what others are blogging. I am planning to leave comments and maybe make more friends around the world.
Internet has open a door to the world and I think I should take advantage of it and expand my circle of friends. Blogging is a great way to share and realise there are many others who may go through the same thing. Especially motherhood. I always believe that no matter whether you are a mother of 1 or 10... a mother's burden is the same. To keep our children alive, mold them to be a good person and encourage them every single day.
So as long as the kids are occupied and don't 'need' mum for awhile.. I will try and read as many blog as I can :)
It will be an interesting Sunday alright :)

I AM A PSP-ADDICT MOM!!! AARRGGGHHHH!!

So this is the story......
I have always been a pc game freak or geek. Started when I was pregnant with my first one and that was 6 years ago. I played scrabble online and wonder what other games were out there. At first I started only with online games. Then things got really boring since most games have small window or just trial games.
Hmmm what did I do then? I started buying those games online.
I discover a whole new life... hahaha. I mean routing motherhood can be really boring. And those games actually made me look forward to a different excitement every day. :)
Then I heard about PSP... we got one for our girl on her 5th birthday. We told her it will be a family PSP since it is too expensive for a 5 year old. Hahahaha... then I started to read about PSP and now I am an addict. I am enjoying Sims2 Pets and its oh so fun. I think it is such a chick game.
My girl love watching me play and we spend an hour playing together. Deciding the clothes, what to play with the pets etc etc...
So its all good. PSP kinda make me want to relax and take a breather. So I spend an hour resting and play PSP whenever I can. Its really nice.
So I am proud to say I am a PSP addict like many others out there!!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kitana0406.blogspot.com/2008/05/i-am-psp-addict-mom-aarrggghhhh.html' title='I AM A PSP-ADDICT MOM!!! My chilli plant finally bear fruits. I got really excited when the plant starts to bloom flowers and was wondering if they ever bear fruits.
I felt really motivated and encouraged. Its a wonderful feeling to grow something yourself. Even my basil are growing well too. I have a nice small bush of basil now. Planning to make some nice basil and sun dried tomato pizza this weekend. The curry plants need a big pot for sure. they are still standing tall but they don't seem to grow any bigger or any faster in the small pot. Hahahaha
My long beans plant is growing well too and need to be transplant to a bigger pot. My corriander plant is doing ok in the small pot. I may grow few more pots since I love to use corriander in my cooking.
So this weekend I really have to go to the Nursery and get more soil and few good size pots.
Will update more once more suprises sprouting out from my mini garden :)

I Signed Up For PPP!

I first heard about PayPerPost through a friend. She got her blog approved and she told me about a gret way to earn money just by blogging.
So I thought, what a great way for me to earn extra pocket money since I am a stay-at-home mum and I love to blog.
So I signed up and follow the step by step instruction given. I needed to have at least 10posts within 30days from the day I submit my blog for approval.
It was pretty confusing at first trying to fgure out if I have 10 post within 30days... hahaha must be me.. being a mum makes me all confuse really..
ANyway I am really really happy to finally get an approval email from PayPerPost. I told a friend about it and he is starting to blog too now. So its all good.
Hmm what will I do with the money? Well I definitely will use it for self indulgence since I have been putting kids need first all the time. Who knows if I earn like lots and lots of money, I may take the whole family for a nice island holiday getaway :).
Payperpost is a safe and great site. If you have a chance and worry about the site, please do read their word of mouth ethics. I started learning German myself at home sometime mid of last year and have been putting aside first half of the day teaching myself. Then after lunch it was Putri's home-school time while Putra took his nap. The rest of the day mainly dedicated to housework, kids and cooking dinner.

Now.... hmmmmm I have maybe 3 hours of German then revising school work with kids right before nap. Then they have a light lunch and off to school. When they in school, I have to run errands and either cook dinner or continue with an hour of German. Then off to pick kids up and soon its dinner time. Seems like time just passed me by like a flash of lightning.

I have yet to find time to update stuffs in ebay and blog like I used to. Today I am able to log in because I skipped German and taught Putri something I never thought I will. Chinese character. She is taking mandarin as second language and though I can speak very little mandarin, reading and writing are something I never did in school. So I have to teach myself first so I can help her a little.

So why did I learn German you ask? hahaha well hubby is German and he is reluctant to speak German to me or the kids. Cannot blame him though, he left Germany for a reason and had lived in the UK for more than 20years. But you see, whenever we go visit his family in Germany, I would like to get involved and communicate with them. Its frustrating when you don't understand what they saying. Furthermore Germans have this attitude where even though they can speak English, they always expect you to speak German. Why? "Because you are in Germany, so you should speak German" or "Your husband is German, you should learn German". So I have to learn the language and hopefully able to teach the kids some basic ones too.

As for Mandarin, I think it is a useful language for everyone to learn. Since I cannot teach them well, I thought it will be good for them to learn in school. But I realised at the the same time I need to equip myself with books, online guidance etc so I can help the little ones with their revision or the school works that they had to bring home. And that requires lots of time too.

So, there goes my dream to enjoy free time when they in school. Well, got to go now. Need to prepare their lunch and snack boxes. Be nice if a day is 27hours. I can do with the extra 3hours. hahahahaa

So to all active stay-at-home mum out there... Good luck, keep on smiling, don't forget to have a breather and cheers with a coffee in hand...:) :)

God Bless!!

Your Talent Is A Gift From God, What You Do With It Is A Gift Back to God!

I first heard this phrase in a movie and it just struck me.. how true it is. It makes me realise how God not just give us talents or special ability from the day we were born. Every day God provide us with abilities to go through each day, overcome obstacles, and shower us with strength to face everyday problems.

We tend to see or search for that particular special talent in us that we sometime believe its genetic. Off course we have to acknowledge that but I sincerely feel we have to look at our daily life. In my previous blog, I mention that thanksgiving.. being thankful and be grateful should be our daily bread. I feel the need to do that everyday. Be thankful for the ability to wake up each morning so to care for my kids and husband. Be thankful at night that I have done within my ability (that God has provide me) to get through the day. God has given me that strength and that talent to care and provide for my family. The same applies to the rest of you.

How we use our daily talent is the gift we give back to God. Just like a child say Thank you to their parents each time we do something for them. The satisfaction and the joy we get from the word Thank you is so much more than any gifts in the world.

Its a fast pace world and its easy to forget to be grounded when we keep trying to achieve the highest or the best. I feel sincerely by being thankful and make it our daily bread, we can start the day knowing we have been blessed every single day by God and it just make it easier to get through the day and remembering how far we have achieved in our daily lives.

God opinion of us never changed. He blessed us with love, gifts and abilities so we can in return be thankful and put a smile on someone’s face. Thats the gift that anyone can gift back to God. A loved soul is a happy and blessed one. A loved soul is never lonely or bitter.

To those who feel they are not love, look again and see how much God loves you and had provide whatever you have. Life is not about what you cant have but being grateful with the little things in life. Thats a gift.

Kids Feeling Better and Loving School = Happy Mum

Its a good new week. Both kids are definitely feeling almost 100% well. Putra is back to his destructive behaviour... hahaha ransacking every drawers and off course checking out the fridge ALL THE TIME!! Definitely better than seeing him weak and dozing off on the sofa every few hours. The apartment definitely neater when he was sick though hahahaha but messy is good. As for Putri, Thank God she was only down for couple of days and she is well now.

I have been keeping Putra out from school for the whole week last week mainly because he was sick. Even Putri on the days when she doesn't seem herself I kept her at home. Why you ask? Its because of the HFMD (Hand Food Mouth Disease) that is spreading nationwide. So far up to date, there are 2 cases in her school so I am very careful about the kids health these days. We are lucky there were only 2 cases when few schools had to shut down for few weeks due to more outbreak amongst their students.

The kids are missing the playground and the pool but I think until the disease are under control nationwide, parents school keep their kids at home before and after school. According to the Ministry of Health, the number of children infected with HFMD this year is very worrying. When I heard about the 7year old with the brain damage due to this disease, it gave me the chill.

I think parents have to be responsible and keep their kids at home when they are feeling unwell. I have seen and heard how they are more worry about their kids missing out on lessons and they let the poor kids to school when they are still feeling weak.

I am glad I am a stay-at-home mum. I can feel for working mums who are constantly worry about their kids when they are in school especially kids who are in daycare and pre-school centres.

Anyway, I am a happy mum despite worrying all the time. Kids are feeling better and they simply loving school now. What more can a mum ask. :) hmmmm maybe a nice all day spa? hahahaha

So they are now on multivitamins with added Vit C and Omega 3 supplements. As for myself and hubby we are on Vit C and Calcium supplements since age is catching up on us... hahahaa don't want to break any bones while chasing those rascals.....:)

So wishing everyone with good health and good spirit everyday. God Bless!

Talk More About Goodness; Less About Negativity

Being a wife, mum and a friend has taught me a lot more about life than when I was single. Everyday is a learning experience. It makes me stop, look, think and analysis situation, comments and actions of others and myself. Recently, God has put me in a situation where I feel my strength and faith were tested.

“Learn to smile at every situation. See it as an opportunity to prove your strength and ability” - Joe Brown.

This quote make me realise how true life is. The only thing I don’t agree is, being a God believer, I know I am able. God never allow a difficult circumstances or situation to enter your life if He knows you are not able. That is why I said my strength and faith were tested. Everyone has great strength they never realise and knew of. I learn that about myself recently. The difficult time has make me discover how strong I can be. At the same time, I realised the strength comes along with the faith I have for God.

I ’speak’ to God whenever and wherever I am. Thanking Him and asking Him for guidance and blessings in everything that I do. I mentioned before how Thanksgiving should be a daily bread in our life. And I thank God for that realisation. The daily reminder how good is God and building my special relationship with God, without realising it has make my faith stronger than ever. And this was tested recently. I am thankful I have God in me.

Its easy for each one of us to look at negativity in every situation. I guess it is safe to say, its human nature. I think everyone should grief, cry and feel sorry for themselves for a small period of time and then make a decision that enough of that and time to look at the other side. God side, the brighter, positive side of all situation.

Time to talk about Goodness.
Why talk about devil when we can rejoice God?
Why fear of Hell when we can remind ourselves the goodness of Heaven?
Why complain about what we can’t have when we can enjoy the blessings we received?
Why waste time depressing of the past when we can celebrate the victory of getting through it?
Why condemn others of their sin when we can share the love of God to them?

Some of us spend too much time dwelling and feeling sorry for ourselves that we forget how wonderful we are. We forget to love and be good to ourselves. I am guilty. I was doing just that. Letting myself feeling bad and feeling sorry about what had happened. Then it hit me! The time I wasted feeling bad and repeating the past in my head, I could have use that to celebrate the love and what I still have out of the bad situation.

I still have my husband, kids, family, friends and Him! So I made a decision. I choose to smile, laugh out loud, do something fun, listen to songs that make me happy, Bless and pray for each and everyone I know. Meet new people and make new friends. (I am happy I did; met 2 new mummies) I know this may sounds sooooo cheesy… I make out a lot with my husband now… hahahha.. I want to celebrate the love I have for my husband.

I think most of us always wait for the right time or the right atmosphere to do naughty little flirting or making out with our spouse. Why worry about not having the time to be close to our husband when we can exchange cheeky smile when we past each other; or just exchange a short loving kiss when he comes by the kitchen for a drink; or give him a passionate hug when he is watching tv? Time to get creative for love...... :)
All I am trying to say, the more we do, think, share, and approach goodness, the further we are to anything bad. The more we rejoice God, the further we will be from making sins.
Being a woman we often forget how much we are worth. I got this motivational sms from my cousin the other day and I want to share it with you ladies.

“A woman has strengths that amaze men. She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens. She holds happiness, love and opinions. She smiles when feels like screaming. She sings when she feels like crying; cries when she’s happy and laughs when she’s afraid. There is only one thing wrong with her, she sometimes forgets what she is worth”.

So ladies, be good to each other. We are stronger when we have each other support. Be supportive to other mothers if you are one. Be thoughtful to other wives if you are one. Be kind to your colleague if you are working. Don’t judge, don’t bring them down. Listen and get to know them.
Share the goodness and may there be joy and more laughter in your life
God Bless!

Kiddos Getting Sick Too Often Now....

I am sure many parents can relate to this.... So I heard and read about it

Ever since my kids in school in mid of March, they get sick so often now. This last 3 weeks Putra been catching the cold twice. Putri thank God only once. Its crazy but read in many forums and parenting websites how their kids tend to get sick more when they are in school. In average school kids gets sick 10 times in a year!! I am talking about kids who are in daycare and kindergarten. But on the good note, some paediatrician said these kids who are expose to the flu viruses tend to get less sick when they are older. So I am optimistic but still which parent wants to see their kids sick.

Its frustrating really. Even I caught the cold and its just very discouraging having to care for the sick kid when myself am not in a good shape. The bad weather now is not helping either. One moment is scorching hot and the next thing you know thunder and lightning and a heavy downpour.

I never thought I need to give supplement to the kid since they are fruits and vegetables lover and they never have problem eating their salad and veges. But now I have to seriously look into giving them Vit C and other vitamins supplement.

So any parents know of any good supplements and giving them to your kids please please share with me. At this point recommendations be good for me so I can start them on the supplement immediately.

Thank you and God Bless!

RELIGION HAS BECOME SO SUPERCIAL, NO LONGER PERSONAL

Religion has now become so abused by their so called believer. To those who read this please do not read with a close mind. We cannot survive thinking only what appear right.

What is a religion? A lifestyle? A discipline? A gift from birth? A burden? A status? A power?

This is how I feel about religion.... Its a personal relationship between you and God. Its a daily communication to God. Its a bridge of communication with God. Its a quiet place where one can go to find peace, answer and to think. Its a relationship where there is love, unconditional love. Its suppose to bring joy and peace into your life. The love you receive from God should make you want to share them. Loving God suppose to be easy and feels good.

It is not status. It is not power. Its is not about how many time you visit the mosque, or the church or the temple. It is not how many holy scripture you know. It is not about proving your religion is right.

Religion is faith. Faith is a strong believe in something without judgement or conviction. Faith is something personal. No one can really explain faith but I believe in spirit. I believe when you have build a strong relationship with God, there is a special spirit between you and God. A gift from God. This is the spirit that will grow in you. It discipline you and your lifestyle will change. Each one will grow differently and their lifestyle change accordingly.

Look around you. Everyday you hear about other religion bringing down another. War or fights declared in the name of religion. What is going on? What happen to the love part, the peace part and the sharing part? What happen to blessings other? What happen to kindness and compassion? Why so much anger and the need for revenge?

I sincerely feel when it comes to religion it has to be personal and sacred. Not to be judge or condemn. Its suppose to bring the best out of you. The peaceful, joyful, kind, loved part of human kind. The moment you offend, hurt or condemn others, its time to reconnect to God. Start asking yourself just what religion is again to you. It not fake, not superficial and not power. Its a special relationship that grows each day and only known to you and God.

LOVE FOR POWER HAS DONE SO MUCH DAMAGE TO HUMAN KIND; ITS ONLY THROUGH THE POWER OF LOVE THAT THE WORLD REALISE THE BLESSINGS OF PEACE.

Thank You India!

Looking at old photos when we lived in India and it made me want to write about it.

In September 2003, we moved to India as expatriate. Prior to moving there, we had 3 weeks of experiencing India. At first everything seems wonderful because we stayed at a 6 star hotel, so they said. Leela Palace looks like a palace alright. If I am not mistaken it supposed to resemble the palace in Mysore.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SAVtkMuwTmI/AAAAAAAAABU/GiA7MJle96Q/s320/100_1953.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189674614274412130" />

2 weeks after, we realised something frustrating about India. Communication is just horrible there. I could wait for days waiting for a reply to my question, a simple question. They don't seem to have the attitude of urgency. Pretty laid back and they love to say "Give me 1 minute Madam" but they got back to you 3 days after if I am lucky.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SAVu1cuwTnI/AAAAAAAAABc/S_rNiT6StXA/s320/100_1958.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189676010138783346" />

Where we stay was really nice. We stay in a private land with securities. The villas and the landscaping reminded you of US a little. So we were living amongst the rich Indians and fellows expatriates. Its really a different kind of lifestyles. I have to say I feel out of place. Everyone had at least 1 maid and so did I. The reason why I had a maid simply because the house was way too big for me to handle as you can see in the picture. Also I was thinking it would be nice to know a local.

I didn't feel at home in that huge house. Doesn't feel like home. Eventually I got really depressed and miserable. I hated doing any shopping there. I hated the way the rich treated the poor. I hate how some of my neighbours talked and treated their maids. I hated the 'rich' lifestyles. So what did I do? I joined the Overseas Women's Club. Hmmmm didn't make me feel any better. Too many materialistic talk. So as months passed by, I began crying almost every week. It was really hard.

So why the title Thank You India you wonder? Well, because of India, I began to have a close relationship with God. The way I talk and seek Him changed. I began to rely on Him in everything. Living and walking by faith was really really scary but I learned anyway. God became my best friend. A friend that is always there to listen no matter in what state I am. So things were getting slightly better and we moved to a smaller house. I began to feel a little at home and we built a nice private pool up on the roof terrace.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SAVvLMuwToI/AAAAAAAAABk/km6uvgNDkhE/s320/100_3047.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189676383800938114" />

I started to enjoy the countryside in India and realised the less fortunate peoplee are more 'real' and much happier people. I felt good when I am around real people. No talking about which car you have, what furniture you bought, how much money you spent at a particular shop or which land was worth buying etc etc. Being with real people reminded you how beautiful the world is and happiness is when you with people who cares.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SAVvosuwTpI/AAAAAAAAABs/Hs_Tmgi_sK4/s320/100_2043.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189676890607079058" />

Today, I no longer fear problems because of my relationship with Him. There are many many difficult times in my life but because of the relationship I have with God, I managed to still smile through those times. I felt stronger in some way. Its like if God had helped me get through India, why not now? Ya know?

So that is why "Thank You India". Not sure if I will go there again but India had given me many lessons learned and memories to cherish. I am glad I 'get to know' God there and life seems easier to cope knowing He will never fail me or anyone. :)

God Bless!

Good Friday @ Home

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SAK2asuwTjI/AAAAAAAAAA8/KRs03Vu6v34/s320/210320081692.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188910290484350514" />
Its holiday today so kids and Jurgen are at home. Didn't plan to go out today. I am down with a slight cold and the weather is so unpredictable these days.

Jurgen suggested making easter eggs today. So I bought some white shell eggs from the supermarket and boiled them in food colourings. The kids did their own version of easter eggs in school yesterday.

Putri had an empty egg shell painted and she planted some green bean seeds. Looks great when the seeds started to sprout. Putra had a little basket made from plastic container and strings. 2 quail eggs were dipped in orange flavoured syrup and placed in the basket. He couldn't resist it and ate the eggs as soon as we got back home.

Despite the gloomy wet weather, we had fun making easter eggs and spent an hour at the jacuzzi in the condo.

So here wishing you Blessed Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

God Bless

Bad Weather = Bad Health = Bad Energy

The weather has been really bad here. One minute its scorching hot and the next minute it rains cats and dogs. High humidity like this always cause me 2 problems - Migraine and asthma. Its been like almost a week since my last blog.. feel too highly drugged with medicines to stay awake and be online. Its a truly awful feeling.... like back in my good/bad poly life... hahahaha

Anyway, the last week I had been having chicken soup, meatball soup.. hmmmm that's it actually... Everyone I stay in touch seems to be sick... doctors must be rich during this cold season.. I got a shock when I was presented with the bills at a local private clinic. Prices seems to be going up these days.... Had a conversation with hubby last night about how his salary is up by 4-5% annually but inflation these days are at 7%.. sigh sigh...

Here in Singapore, we find it harder to save up money. So I am praying for God's guidance. Will we stay here in Singapore after mid of 2009? I hate the idea of moving to anywhere. Kids are in their school age and that will mean a lot of adjustments and stresses to deal with if we move.

Hubby is so fed-up with the way the management are doing things here. Everyone are so money minded and very much materialistic. No more genuine people who are passionate about their work anymore. Everyone trying to be ahead and earning more even at others' expense. He is feeling discourage everyday and I feel for him because he loves his job but others' selfish ambitious management are stopping him from doing his work well. He even mentioned to me when he do go to Munich in May, he will find out about the possibilities of moving back there!!! Aaaarrrrggggggggghhhhhh!!!!

I didn't say anything to that. He knows I will not want to live in Germany and I also know he doesn't fancy living back in Germany too. But I can understand why he is looking at other possibilities even if it meant Germany. I guess if God really wants us to go there, then He will provide me with the wisdom to deal with the Germans. Hahahahahahahaa... Its nothing personal but being dark skin and not German isn't easy :)

Oh well, who knows what God has plan for us ahead. As for now, I am living a day at a time without fail to thank Him everyday for the blessings, wisdom, guidance and love He had provided us. She said she want to do gardening and run around in the backyard. Off course I told her because it's too expensive to get a teeny weeny house here with a huge garden. She always said "Oh ok Mum. But I wish we can have a garden"

So my heart melts everytime she said that. Putri loves nature a lot. When we were in Germany, she love to be in the countryside and the forest. So I decided to see if I have green hands. I persuaded Juergen to go to the nursery with me and got few pots and pot soils. We had bought a lot of seeds from UK and Germany when we were there. So I told Putri we will have our very own little mini garden. :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SAK0C8uwTgI/AAAAAAAAAAk/ozqCrDwo1Zk/s320/230320081699.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188907683439201794" />

I started with curry leaves plant first. "Steal" some in the forest of MacRitchie reservoir. Hahahaa.. sssshhhh... Then we planted some red chili seeds. Happy to say they growing pretty well. Putri planted some Geranium if I am not wrong. Well will know when the plant blooms some flower. Hahahaha. I replanted some chinese parsley that I got from the market since most of them still have roots and soil intact to it. That also grows well and new leaves are growing now.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SAK0RcuwThI/AAAAAAAAAAs/c81BhOuORgQ/s320/230320081701.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188907932547304978" />

Just last week, I decided to grow some Basil, Birds Eye Chili a.k.a chili padi and corriander from the roots. Looks like it is growing some new leaves but time will tell. I am pretty happy with our mini herb/vegetable garden.

The owner of the apartment had left 2 Jasmine plant and they did not take care of them well. So I continue to water them daily and now they have new leaves and blooming tiny beautiful jasmine flowers. I am not sure if its Jasmine though. Hahahaha.. We get humming birds dropping by to visit everyday now. Its really beautiful. Putri wants more flowers so she hopes butterflies will come visit too. :)

So verdict? My hands are pretty green. Hahahaha. Next on the list, roses and hibiscus. :)

God Bless!

When I thought I have nothing to do.....

When I first thought I will be bored when kids in school.. boy was I wrong. I think I am more busy than ever. Hahahaha.. But I do enjoy the 2 hours of quiet time in the afternoon.
Right now the weather is kinda weird so it's really not fun to go swimming. SO I just catch up on cleaning and writing blogs. But these days I have to put in more housework into the free time.:(
I guess since the kids are only in pre-school, I wont enjoy the free time much for now. So I will practice keeping myself company slowly from now onwards. I really want to get back on my German lessons.
I wish I have more discipline to do that. But I really have to motivate myself to do it. I really want my kids to be able to converse with their aunts, uncles, cousins and oma and opa back in Germany. So that shall be my motivation. There was not many good playgroup/nursery there. So when Putri was 2, I decided to homeschooling her. I did not know much about homeschooling but I did it anyway.

At first I did what most parents do, get her a lot of books for her to explore. I remember the first few thing I taught her was colours and ABC through singing. Thetas when I realised she was a fast learner. That excites me because frankly I am not very good with small kids when it come to teaching. hahahahahaa

So from then on, I start to read about homeschooling and whats available on the internet. When we move back to Singapore, I decided to put her to a local playgroup once a week. That was fun for her but she was getting bored. So eventually I decided to continue homeschooling her. She learn more and was excited about learning again.
As parents we always worry about her social ability. So hubby suggested to try find a decent nursery. I did and we found a montessori just around the corner.. that was when we live in Tanah Merah. She was doing soooo great. The best thing about that montessori school, they taught her according to her ability and exposed her to many advanced tools that they feel she can try on. We were happy she adapt well until we had to move residence because of the crazy increase of high rent. From far east we move to far west.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ecsNsLxkvpU/SAK01cuwTiI/AAAAAAAAAA0/PbDV2aUtVos/s320/220220081292.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188908551022595618" />

Its been tough for my girl. Moving and to have to stop schooling. So I got back to homeschooling again. So since May 2007 till present, she been home-schooled. During this time, I concentrated on reading. Teaching her the sounds of letters and eventually reading. I am really happy with her achievement. She is able to read pretty good. At least now she can read instructions and do the worksheet on her own. That really boost her confidence.

The thing about home-schooled, there was no checklist or any due date to achieve certain goals. So we had fun reading, making stuffs and incorporating any festivals into the lessons. It has been really fun homeschooling her plus those time spent was like a private time between me and her. I have a 2 year old boy who takes a lot of my time. So when he takes his nap, its lesson time for my girl. So she has my full attention and she love that. :)
This is the final week of homeschooling. Next week she will be in Kindergarten and my son will be in Nursery1/playgroup. Feels strange but happy. hahahahaha. But I do know as a mum, you are always the teacher in your kids life. And every smile you see when they are happy are the best reward any mum can ask for.
So, I hope so much to see lots of smiling moments before and after school. :)
God Bless!

Trying My Hands On A Simple Small Business

Hey All...
As you all know, I am a mother of 2. My kids are in their pre-school age now. Since my girl was 2, I have been homeschooling her and now that she is 5, I decided its time for her to go for school. As for my 2 1/2 yr old, me and hubby feel its time for him to have his own social life... hahaha playgroup/N1
So what am I to do when they in school? Hmmmm... many stuffs in my mind actually. But I have always been fascinated by many stay at home mum out there who starts their own business and became successful. I feel motivated and decided to set up a small business online. First I start selling my stuffs in ebay, and was ecstatic when I sell few stuffs. AFter sometime, I start having thoughts maybe I can make something on my own to sell.
So what did I do? I approach an animation creator friend of mine in Australia to help me out. This is what we are trying to do.
We are making personalised greetings cards. Both animated/non-animated ecards and printed cards. Every image and colours are our own creation. We did not copy from the internet. As we develop ideas, he will create images and colours and put them together.
We are in the process of making some simple samples for buyers to look at. Basically we made to order all cards. So if any of you be interested to get your own personalised ecards or printed cards for any functions do let me know.
I think personalised cards are really special. Even if you choose to use our sample and add pictures of your own, I think it is by itself a special card. Our ecards are affordable. We are charging one personalised ecard for only S$5 as introductory price.
So if you are interested please let me know and we can discuss your ecard ideas. :)
We hope to display our samples by Friday, 14th March 2008.
Remember ecards can be animated or non-animated.
Cheers
<img width='1' height='1' Wish I have chose or decided this and that instead of…..

Then, I realise something wonderful that makes me smile.

One day, when I say I Love You and there’s silent…

Its ok

One day, when I open my eyes and there’s no one…

Its ok

One day, when I am in tears and there’s no shoulder….

Its ok

One day, when I fall and there’s no support…

Its ok

Because I have God in me who loves me and He never fails me….

Its hard to explain faith. Its hard to explain the peacefulness and joy He provide you during those quiet time with Him. The best thing about the relationship I have with God is I dont need a special place to go to when I need to talk to Him. Knowing He is always there, I can speak to him anytime and anywhere. And because He accepts you in every state of mind and body, you feel free.

Well, today He brings smile to my face. Amazing how that 5mins smile can give me such a great encouragement. Sometime I can hit myself. Why didnt I talk to Him more? I forget the power of prayer. So here I go… I am going to pray for you who is reading this…..

Lord, I asked that You look into this person life.

I dont know what is their needs but I bet You do.

You always do.

So I asked Lord that you provide them with strength and wisdom

So they make walk out of their door tomorrow with head up high

Not with arrogance but with joy, confidence and love.

Bless them Lord, with your grace and love.

Speak to them and let them know everything will be Ok.

May they in return be a blessing to people they come across.

Amen.
