I remember when we decided to enrol kids in school in March, I thought "Wow, what will I do with few hours of freedom?" hahahahaa oh boy was I so wrong....
I think I am busier than ever. I started learning German myself at home sometime mid of last year and have been putting aside first half of the day teaching myself. Then after lunch it was Putri's home-school time while Putra took his nap. The rest of the day mainly dedicated to housework, kids and cooking dinner.
Now.... hmmmmm I have maybe 3 hours of German then revising school work with kids right before nap. Then they have a light lunch and off to school. When they in school, I have to run errands and either cook dinner or continue with an hour of German. Then off to pick kids up and soon its dinner time. Seems like time just passed me by like a flash of lightning.
I have yet to find time to update stuffs in ebay and blog like I used to. Today I am able to log in because I skipped German and taught Putri something I never thought I will. Chinese character. She is taking mandarin as second language and though I can speak very little mandarin, reading and writing are something I never did in school. So I have to teach myself first so I can help her a little.
So why did I learn German you ask? hahaha well hubby is German and he is reluctant to speak German to me or the kids. Cannot blame him though, he left Germany for a reason and had lived in the UK for more than 20years. But you see, whenever we go visit his family in Germany, I would like to get involved and communicate with them. Its frustrating when you don't understand what they saying. Furthermore Germans have this attitude where even though they can speak English, they always expect you to speak German. Why? "Because you are in Germany, so you should speak German" or "Your husband is German, you should learn German". So I have to learn the language and hopefully able to teach the kids some basic ones too.
As for Mandarin, I think it is a useful language for everyone to learn. Since I cannot teach them well, I thought it will be good for them to learn in school. But I realised at the the same time I need to equip myself with books, online guidance etc so I can help the little ones with their revision or the school works that they had to bring home. And that requires lots of time too.
So, there goes my dream to enjoy free time when they in school. Well, got to go now. Need to prepare their lunch and snack boxes. Be nice if a day is 27hours. I can do with the extra 3hours. hahahahaa
So to all active stay-at-home mum out there... Good luck, keep on smiling, don't forget to have a breather and cheers with a coffee in hand...:) :)
God Bless!!
